In 1906, OLIVER GOLD JENNINGS built a home in his beloved Fairfield, Connecticut, befitting his station as a member of the social elite during America's Gilded Age.  He called the estate Mailands, the lands of May, and would come here between the New York and Newport social seasons.  Known for its outstanding greenhouse and a hillside of breathtaking dogwood trees, Mailands must have been particularly spectacular during spring, Fairfield's most beautiful season.

After Mr. Jenning's passing, Mailands and the Lasher estate to the west were acquired by the Society of Jesus as the new homje of the fledgling Fairfield University.  What started as a dream of Fathers Dolan and McEleney is today a thriving unversity dedicated to the Jesuit tradition of higher learning.  Spring is still a special time here when graduates gather on the lawn of the Lasher estate to receive their degrees.

University Park boasts a location literally minutes from everything.  Whether you need to catch a train, jump on I-95 or the Merritt Parkway, shop at town center, spend a dayat the beach or see a production at Fairfield Unversity's Quick Center for the Arts, living at University Park allows you to get there in minutes.
